Agi/AP Empty Agi/AP

Post  Doug Thu Apr 30, 2009 4:09 am

I have up to now been stacking AP in my red slots to help with aggro generation, but now I am thinking it may be better to either
A) Keep stacking Stam for the extra threat of SB (see the threat aspect thread) or
B) Stack Agi for the additional crit (Cobra Strikes would provide much more aggro than AP itself can) and armour (since the tank mantra is mitigation>threat>everything else).

Does this make sense?

I'll have to look into the stam for silverback threat relationship, but ill argue that ap will win out over agi, since you can get double the ap from a similar quality gem.

From what i know of growl, it scales with the hunters ap (once over the cap) at a rate of ~42%.

That is to say that 100 RAP on the hunter would translate to 42 TPS for the pet, assuming growl is on autocast.

Im fairly certain that the crit gained from 8 agi couldn't compare to 42 TPS.

Silverback's threat through scaling.... hmm. I dont know if it would give you as much as 42 TPS, but you are also getting stam, so that has to weigh in too. Ill test out Silverback tonight if i get a chance and see what I can do about coming up with some comparisons. I should also compare silverback to spiked collar as you have done.

One thing to remember is that spiked collar and silverback will scale differently in a raid group, and it might even matter right down to your group make up. YIKES this could get complicatey.

Yes, I think you are right.

It seems that threat is our major overriding concern at the moment not survivability ironically.
