Pet tanking lull.

There seems to be a bit of a lull in pet tanking feats lately. We've covered all twelve Northrend instances on normal, but there's still seven heroics out there yet to be conquered.

For me, my guild is still working on its first Ulduar clear, and I can't justify to the guild taking the time out of a raid week to try to let me pet tank something in there when that time could be used instead to down a new boss. In the meantime I'm working trying to convince the other officers to let us do a mostly pet tanked Naxx 25 on our weekly run, crunching numbers on Ulduar bosses to see what it'd be possible to tank, and upgrading the PvP gear portion of my set to Furious to be ready for Ulduar when the time comes.

What are our other tanks up to?

Currently leveling only 55 should be 58 soon for BC.

Currently tanked zul farrak sunken temple and black rock depths with ease

Looking forward to hitting 80 where the real funs supposidly begins.

Mowed Shadow Labs with just a priest along for fun, but that's hardly a feat. I did post some positioning tricks I learned on the trip.

Spending a lot of time in WG and BGs. Pushing slowly toward 50k kills, so I'm sorta focused there.

The most exciting tanking thing at the moment is Chillmaw plus seeing how many mobs I can line up with my bear, which I am loving more and more.

For a fun solo tanking expedition, go to the Scarlet area way to the north and fight your way into the main building, then try to do the boss (hint: bandages are your friend). A good way to purge the memories of dying there many times in a dps spec.

I tanked HC: UP this weekend (will post a feat when I have time), so that's one less heroic on the list, but other than that I barely go heroics at all, in any shape or form. People don't want to go anymore. And I still have a lot of achievements to do >.<

Oh, and I did solo Crypts HC as well, that last boss was quite hard and required a lucky attempt. Will post that as well when I have time.

There has been a lull, and its not just cuz i moved it to the forums, kinda.

Things were slowing up as the heroics started going down. I think that nobody wants to post one thats already gone up, but I think it would be great to see multiple perspectives, and there's plenty of room on the forums so post away.

I too have been taking on chillmaw solo and tanking it when grouped. I even let some people sitting near me to group up and sit by and watch as I soloed it. That was fun.

I haven't gotten much opportunity to tank in raids, due to the fact that the raid leader and one other prominent officer both picked up dual spec and have been developing their ability to tank, and have been eager to tank. That, on top of having more than enough main spec tanks, has left little room for me even in easier content =(

I have been looking for opportunities to tank heroics, but like nordh said, not many people are still doing them. And of course the subset of those willing to go with a pet tank is even smaller.

I am still looking around though, and still building my tanking sets up. If I get some chances to tank I will definitely give a holler.

As far as ulduar goes, I still havent gotten much past the first boss in terms of chances to get in raids going farther than that, but I have attempted XT on 10 man and it seemed fairly suited for pet tanking, once 'progression mode' is over. Any thoughts?

I have been considering trying to get some chances to OT the trash and adds on bosses with my pet, actually. A lot of the trash needs actual CC. Something a pet wouldbe very good for. A few of the bosses drop adds that a pet might come in handy tanknig as well, and I've been wanting to see how hard tey hit.

I asked about the possibility of add-tanking on Ignis. -Don't have enough details yet on if it would work, but I suspect it may be another 'ideal for pets' situation TBH.
