I'm Beary Confused

So I've been trying to find out if bears swipe is now 360 and more than 3 targets but I really cant find out if its true or even where I originally read it. I think I might be confused with druids.

Could someone clear this up please. Thanks

I've heard the same thing from alot of people, but I'm not sure where i read it either, and I havent tested it out for myself. I'll try to give this a quick test tonight and get back to you, if no one else already knows the answer.

Thanks. If it is I think a bear would be better than a croco for aoe tanking. Swipe has a very low CD.

Hmm, I thought it was Druid...

I know they made this change for Druids. I don't know if they also made it for bear pets.

Sigh, although im fairly sure they talked about making this change, it has not been implemented.

I just tested swipe in and out of EotB and its a 180 degree arc in front of the bear.

Yeah, it was only Druid bears that got that =(

Aw, Thats a Shame Guess I'll have to put up with those goddam croco noises.

I find a quick /petfollow and immediate /petattack (which I bind to my mouse wheel up & Down for ease) repositions the mobs perfectly in front for a swipe.

Alternatively you could focus a secondary target (who would move behind you after the pull) and use a macro such as /cast [target=focus] swipe macro to make him spin around and whallop those behind him.

Only downside on this is that he wouldn't swipe the main target - which is the one you really need threat on.

In fact - thinking about it the ideal solution would prob be to bind a macro to your /petattack command. Ie a macro such as:

/petattack
/cast swipe

then i could just spin the wheel down to pull him back a few feet then up to spin him around and swipe

Now Ive been using a turtle for the last few months as Ive been building my gear and my guilds trust in Hunter tanking. Recentnly I swtiched to a bear even though its a bit more dmg taking I was finding that even with the new MD I still have issues with multi adds.

We ran H fos and H pos to my suprise my bear did fantastic! He was avraging 2.5-3k tps the entire fight held groups of mobs 3 or 4 at a time with no issues between MD volley, thunderstamp and swipe there went any issues.

I highly suggest if your crit immuned and have a decent amount of hp try a bear youll love it.

I have to agree, for moderate sized packs of mobs and even bosses the bear puts out much more TPS than I expected. I have Last Stand on mine so that helps too.

I picked up 2 pionts in SB and 2 points in Stam+Ap Figured seeing he could take a bit less dmg Id make up for it by buffing his hp.

A bear's Swipe is still only 180 degrees. However, within that radius it can hit an unlimited number of targets. This is valid as of patch 3.3. Originally it was 180 degrees and 3 targets max, so some improvement has been made. But it is only the Druid that has had their Swipe upped to 360.

I love my bear!!!! I tank 90% of the time with him. The only time I dont is on certian bosses which I use the old turtle for. His aoe is great he holds mobs like a champ I never have toworry about the aoe dmg as long as poeple spend a good part of there time on skull.

IMO bears are thee tanking pet.
