Ok - so the BM/TBW nerf/buff thingy is not great for hunter tanks.

But for those of us attempting heroics - Rejoice! Blizz has helpfully give us 3 new consumables (Runescroll of fortitude, Drums of forgotten kings and Drums of the Wild) which give raidwide GF, BOK and GOTW buffs respectively.

So even a 5m HC (or Solo Shocked ) can benifit from the major buffs a 10/25man raid would probably have even without a Priest, Pally or Druid in it.

Note - These dont apply to pets tho so it's all only trickle-down buffs... (but you can still apply stam scrolls to them directly)

Say what, the scrolls don't apply to the pets? FFS!

I tried buffing mine with the Fortitude one yesterday... Didnt apply to the pet.

Not sure if this is a bug or working as intended... or if it just on the scroll and not the drums.

Mind you saying that - just thinking that i mounted up to go meet someone - possible it doesnt stay when the pet is dismissed....

I'll look again tonight

Nope, it definitely works like a normal buff on pets, at least for the drums.

I didn't realise about the runescroll though, that is good news indeed Smile

Incidentally, it also increases the chances of getting Sanc on our pets when its is available, which is great Smile

Unfortunately on my server the scrolls are going for 30g each, which is more than a little bizzare. scratch

Well, the cost to make them is one of the green northrend inks (and a parchment). That's about a stack of the highest level of herbs to get one of those.

Seems quite expensive for a single buff, at least it is much more expensive than the drums.

If it does the price would be fine (I might even buy then), I didn't see anything on the tooltip, but it stacks to 20.

Not that tooltips are always accurate of course, but I am loathe to buy a 15g item to find out. Any inscriptors?

1 ink/craft = 5 scrolls (they get crafted in stacks, essentially). Each scroll = 1 charge. The scrolls are what get made by the Scribes.

The drums are multiple charges each. These are made by Leatherworkers.

Thanks for that, I thought as much. I wonder if they will do something about the huge price difference eventually?

It's not up to 'them' to do it. It's up to the players who are buying and selling on the AH. Wink Like every new and shiny thing, the price is going to be HUGE at first, and then come down. Keep an eye out for the price to drop on the AH as players slash it more and more.

I am a leather worker and I looked at the drums. They have 50 charges and the mats cost about 50 gold at best on my server, so you are looking at 1 gold, or so, for each application. It's not negligible, but it isn't bad for what you are getting either, and its probably the cheapest of all non-class buffs.

If the prices for mats are vastly different the price should never equalise.

In a free market the price will tend to be the cost of material + the trouble to make the item. Roughly speaking, if the price drops below that point supply should dry up, above the price Auctioneer kicks in.

On my server the mats for Kings drums go for ~40g and the drums sell for 35g.
Snowfall ink goes for 14g and the scroll goes for 10g.

That means that the prices for each of the buff items should trend upwards, but keeping the 10 fold price differential.
