Pet Stamina Formula
So here it is, After some thought and contributions from Durante and ihlos
I'll be editing this post many times to help clarify / keep up to date so check back if you have questions or you think things have changed.
Pet health = FLOOR(Base Health + Stamina boost * Family Modifier) * Endurance Training
Stamina boost = ( FLOOR(FLOOR(45% Hunter's Stam * (1 Wild hunt mod) + Stamina buffs) * (1 Great Stam Mod) * (1 Blood Rhino Mod) + FLOOR( Pet Base stam * (1 Great Stam Mod) * (1 Blood Rhino Mod))) x 10
These two equations lead to the following table:
ET= Endurance Training
GS= Great Stamina
BR= Blood of the Rhino
WH= Wild Hunt
Family 105.0%
Base 2582
Hunter 45.0%
Stam base 361
The farthest off that these found was 4 hp which i think is more than accurate for our sakes.
Anyone know how to make a good table in here? been trying a while.
Now to the armor formula....

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I'll look into making tables and what not, those will come in handy for sure when discussing these things, especially test data.
It looks like your test data confirms this formula exceptionally. I was wondering if you tested any stam buffs from food or other players. It looks like you didn't, so I was thinking I could help with that. Once thats tested out, and the formula stands strong, id say we've pinned it down pretty solidly. I can't think of anything else.....except maybe straight health buffs such as the warrior buff... where does that fit into the formula?

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Ok so it looks like there are at least two ways to make a table. First is the table button, in the fourth grouping from the left in the buttons above the reply box. This allows creation of the table, which makes a very simple html table framework. View in the visual editor mode ( last button on the right ) to easily enter your own numbers.
Example:
You can also paste in a table from excel with your own numbers already in it. this is a little finicky, so be careful to get it just the way you want it before pasting it in.
Example:
Example:
Hunter | Stam | Health | stuff | |
67 | 54 | 344 | 656 | |
7 | 677 | 5564 | 4 | 6 |
434 | 774 | 6 | 6 | 6564 |

Example:
978 | 987 | 987 |
987 | 987 | 987 |
875 | 8756 | 785 |
Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I want to say it is like this but i haven't done the tests to confirm this yet so i havn't added in the equation yet.
Pet health = FLOOR(Base Health + Stamina boost * Family Modifier + Health buffs) * Endurance Training
If anyone has time to try this out help is always welcome.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I tried for a long time to get it to paste in. I got it to look real nice and paste well but then everytime i submitted it, I got the message is too long post because of the formatting of the table being so long. I'll mess with the table and see if i can get it to look better.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Hunter | Stam | Data | Result |
3453 | 3434 | 23434 | 2343 |
343 | 3456 | 907809 | 98 |
96 | -5979 | 98756 | 32048 |
Ok so I found a way to get what you want. Open your excel file, and save it as a csv. I prefer the MSDOS version, as its real clean.
Then take your csv file and copy/paste or upload it at the following converter website:
http://area23.brightbyte.de/csv2wp.php
Select your options, which should all be fine for basic csv. Hit convert to html and it gives you your table. The source for this page is a perfectly clean html version of your table which can be pasted into the reply window with great results.
Its a little out of the way, but the extra couple steps are worth it for a big table of research data.
If anyone finds a better way im all ears.
Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Updated with a nice table and with Stam buffs to show accuracy.
PS Ihlos you should sticky this topic.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Does your formula put kings in with stamina buffs?
The one durante emailed me appended kings onto the end, as seen here:
Note he also groups base and hunter stam, whereas your formual factors them out. From what I can tell they are identical, save for the kings at the end.
Im trying to boil all this down into a graphical representation that will be easy to understand, and I want to get it right!
Also, we calculated the "scaling" of hunter stamina to be at around 93% right?
The one durante emailed me appended kings onto the end, as seen here:
(Pet Base Stam + (Hunter Stamina * .45 * (1 + Wild Hunt Mod)) + Flat Stam buffs) * (1 + Great Stam Mod) * (1 + Blood of the Rhino Mod) * (1 + Kings Mod) = Pet Total Stam.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Without testing it to prove it to myself i would have to go with what i think as far as how it would go. And i would have it exaclty as Durante does.
i.e.
Stamina boost = ( FLOOR(FLOOR(45% Hunter's Stam * (1 Wild hunt mod) + Stamina buffs) * (1 + Great Stam Mod) * (1 + Blood Rhino Mod) * (1+ Kings Mod) + FLOOR( Pet Base stam * (1 Great Stam Mod) * (1 Blood Rhino Mod)*(1 + Kings Mod))) x 10
They are the exact same except that mine is just extended out to further show how blizz is rounding down.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
thats where i would have put it too. Check out my pictoral representation of the formula on the pet stats page. Once I get the rest of the pet stats updated ill make a more public announcement.
I want to thank you and Durante for putting time into this formula and for testing. I haven't had alot of time and what I do have has gone to the site and the forums' creation and updating. So its really nice to have some theorycrafting pros cranking out great stuff.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I've seen many bug reports (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?forumId=10023&sid=1) about Wild Hunt not actually providing the stated benefit. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Re: Pet Stamina Formula
As far as a Bm i never had any trouble with getting the numbers for my formula, however when i was unspecced trying to test the 1/2 in WH i could not get it to provide any benifit whatsoever. I logged/dismissed/changed pet and nothing. With a Bm all it takes is a simple dismiss and he'll come back with the right health. At least when i was gathering all the numbers for the table above.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I occasionally have that issue, but dismissing my pet and recalling it has always solved the problem for me. I always pause to look at my pet's HP before putting points in Wild Hunt so I can tell whether or not its been activated.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
I'm seemingly not able to get the benefit from Wild Hunt. I have some screenshots here: http://hunter-dps.dungeoneer.com/2009/05/hunting-for-wild-hunt.html
Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Same thing i was seeing Khel, maybe they dont want use of the top tier when not BM. I dont know if this is intended or just a bug but we should get some clarification from a blue on this.
1/2 or 2/2 when in my BM spec works after a dismiss.
1/2 when not BM doesn't work no matter what i do.

Re: Pet Stamina Formula
Switching out a piece of gear or changing your aspect out of or to Dragonhawk will update your pet's stats taking Wild Hunt into effect. Considering Dragonhawk updates the stats and puts Wild Hunt into effect, its possible that receiving any buff would to, so it wouldn't be a problem when in a group.
I've also noticed that if you swap gear to put Wild Hunt into effect, then spec out of WH, it stays in effect as long as you don't switch gear. of course I would never encourage anyone to use any sort of exploit ( ), but as long as you planned ahead of time it seems like you could use that to essentially get two extra talent points.
